Diary Entry Jan 2012

Firstly, a very Happy New Year to you all, hope 2012 brings everything you’ve dreamed of.
I’ve got off to a very good start because I’ve just signed a two-book deal with Quercus, the 2011 Publisher of the Year.
I’m really excited because they’re a fresh, innovative publisher who really seem to be going places. They’re probably best known for publishing the Stieg Larsson trilogy but they’ve also just signed Dorothy Koomson who will be part of the same mass market imprint as me. My new editor is Jo Dickinson who has previously edited Dorothy, Rosamund Lupton and lots of other top authors. Do have a look on their website http://www.quercusbooks.co.uk/
Obviously I’m sorry to leave Headline, who launched my career but after six years the time was right to move on.
Unfortunately I can’t say too much about the next book yet other than that it’s set in West Yorkshire again and is about three women who decide to do something extraordinary which changes their lives – and the lives of lots of lots of other people – forever.
It’s something I’ve wanted to write for a long time and I’m already loving working on it – though I’ve got a long way to go yet. The book is due to be published in paperback in early spring next year (though this date could change yet).
I’ll keep you posted with the book’s progress and reveal more about the plot, characters, title and the jacket along the way.
In the meantime, thanks for all your support and it would be great to hear from any more of you who read And Then It Happened over Christmas and New Year. Have been getting some great feedback on Twitter and Facebook so far, which is lovely.
Enjoy 2012!
Linda
